I’m Tiffany Pao Yang – a Hmong American woman, Wisconsinite, and UW-Madison student.
I started this blog 2-3 years ago because I wanted a place of my own on the internet to document and share some of my personal thoughts and experiences. I wrote a few articles about some important people in my life, goals, and end-of-the-semester evaluations. Click on the Reflections tab to check the articles out!
Then two weeks ago, I found my journals from when I was 12 and 13 years old. I read them with my sister and we literally almost died laughing at how naive and dramatic I was. I wrote about my daily activities, how “fashionable” I was (LOL at Abercrombie polos, plaid bermuda shorts, and brown cover-toe sandals) friends and crushes, insecurities – oh, the list goes on. Though I was embarrassed by my 12 and 13 year old naive self, I enjoyed reminiscing of the years when my family – grandma, mom, dad, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers – and I lived in one household and before everyone graduated high school and started working. Then I thought, 10 years from now, I want to also laugh at my 21 and 22 year old self and then reminisce of my time in and after college, family trips, social movements, faith, etc. So that’s why I started my 2017 Diary – to document everyday’s activities and reflections (I can’t promise, but I will try my very best). So click on the 2017 Diary tab!
I hope you enjoy your time here with me!
